French Bulldog puppies grow quickly and are mostly done by 9 to 12 months, with the chest filling out until around 14 months. A typical puppy weighs about 3.5 to 5 kg (8 to 11 lb) at 12 weeks and around 8 kg (18 lb) at 6 months, though heavier lines run above that.
During growth, the spine and airway deserve the closest watch. Frenchies commonly have oddly shaped vertebrae, so discourage repeated leaps off sofas and beds and carry young puppies down stairs. If a growing puppy snores loudly while awake, tires after a few minutes of play or has very pinched nostrils, ask your vet to assess the airway early, while there is time to plan.
