A rubber brush or grooming mitt once a week is all the short coat needs, with extra sessions during the spring and autumn sheds. Bathing every one to two months is plenty. Keep a towel near the door for drool, and wipe the lips and any facial wrinkles after meals and drinks to prevent sore, smelly skin.
Nails on a dog this heavy need regular trimming, around every three weeks, because long nails change how weight sits on the toes. Check the ears weekly and look inside skin folds on the face for redness or trapped moisture.
