Goldendoodle grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Goldendoodle: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
Grooming is the defining commitment. Wavy and curly coats need thorough brushing three to four times a week using a slicker brush and a metal comb, working in sections down to the skin (line brushing). Pay attention to behind the ears, the armpits, under the collar and the legs. A professional groom every six to eight weeks keeps the coat manageable.
Hairy, floppy ears trap moisture, so check them weekly and dry them after swimming. Ask your groomer about hair in the ear canal. Trim nails every three to four weeks and keep hair around the eyes and pads tidy.
