Goldendoodle feeding guide: how much and how often
Daily calories, portions by age and practical feeding tips for the Goldendoodle.
A standard Goldendoodle of around 27 kg with moderate activity often needs about 1,200 to 1,450 kcal a day, roughly 300 to 380 g of a typical dry food (3 to 3.75 cups). A 10 kg mini might need around 120 to 160 g (about 1.25 to 1.5 cups). The Golden Retriever side often brings a hearty appetite, so measure portions and include treats in the daily total.
Bearded faces drip water and collect food. A wide, stable bowl on a washable mat helps, and a quick wipe after meals prevents staining and smells around the mouth. Some owners use a slightly narrower bowl so long ear hair stays out of the water.
Weight gain can creep up after neutering or as dogs slow down with age. Check body condition regularly by feeling the ribs under the coat, as fluff easily hides extra weight.
