Cane Corso puppy growth: milestones and weight estimates
How fast a Cane Corso puppy grows, illustrative weight estimates and the limits of predicting adult size.
Puppies grow alarmingly fast. A Corso can go from about 10 kg (22 lb) at 10 weeks to 30 kg (66 lb) or more by six months, then keep filling out slowly until two years or later. Most of the height is reached by 12 to 14 months, but the chest, head and muscle keep developing into the third year.
Rapid growth strains young joints. Feed a large-breed puppy formula with controlled calcium, keep the puppy lean rather than chunky, and avoid repetitive jumping, long runs and constant stair climbing until the growth plates close at around 18 months. Limping that lasts more than a day or two, or a puppy that is reluctant to stand after resting, deserves a vet check rather than a wait-and-see approach.
