How much exercise does a Cane Corso need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Cane Corso enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Plan on about 60 to 90 minutes of activity a day for an adult, split between a structured walk, a sniffing session and some training or play. Corsos enjoy steady hiking, tracking games, carting (pulling a light cart) and obedience or rally work. They are sprinters rather than marathon runners, and many lose interest in long jogs.
An under-exercised Corso becomes restless, chews and may start guarding things it should ignore, such as the car or the sofa. Too much exercise shows up as stiffness the next morning, lagging behind on walks or heavy panting that has not settled after 10 minutes of rest. In warm weather walk early and late: the shortish muzzle and dark coat make overheating a real risk above about 25°C (77°F).
