Cavapoo grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Cavapoo: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
Brush three or four times a week, right down to the skin, with a slicker brush and a metal comb. Mats form fastest behind the ears, under the collar, in the armpits and on the legs. Curly coats shed less but mat more, while wavy coats shed a little more and comb out more easily.
A professional groom every six to eight weeks keeps the coat at a manageable length. Keep the hair around the eyes trimmed, wipe tear stains gently and check the ears weekly, since hair and warmth inside the ear canal can trap moisture. Trim nails every two to three weeks and brush teeth several times a week.
