Cavapoo feeding guide: how much and how often
Daily calories, portions by age and practical feeding tips for the Cavapoo.
Because sizes vary, so do portions. A 7 kg adult typically needs about 90 to 120 g of dry food a day, roughly 1 to 1.25 cups, while a 10 kg dog may need 120 to 160 g. Split the total into two meals. Cavapoos are food-motivated, and the Cavalier side brings a tendency to put on weight, so measure every meal and count treats.
Long ears and a hairy face collect food and water, leading to staining and odor around the mouth. A bowl with a narrower opening helps, and a quick wipe after meals keeps the face clean. If your Cavapoo suddenly eats less, drinks noticeably more or gains weight without explanation, see a vet.
