Most Cavapoo puppies reach adult height around 9 to 10 months and full weight by about 12 months, with Toy crosses usually maturing slightly earlier than Miniature crosses. Predicting adult size is tricky, and the parents' sizes remain the most reliable guide.
The adult coat often comes through between 6 and 12 months, sometimes turning curlier or denser than the puppy coat. This is when matting starts in earnest, so build grooming habits early. Keep growing puppies lean and limit jumping off furniture. A puppy that skips on a back leg, scratches at its neck persistently or seems sensitive when its head is touched should be seen by a vet.
