The short white coat is low effort: a rubber grooming mitt once or twice a week removes loose hair and keeps the coat glossy. Dogos shed moderately all year, and the white hairs cling to dark clothing and upholstery. Bathe every couple of months or when dirty with a gentle dog shampoo, since the skin can be sensitive.
Pink skin under a thin white coat burns easily, especially on the nose, ears and belly. Limit midday sun, provide shade and ask your vet about pet-safe sun protection. Clean the ears weekly, trim nails every two to three weeks and scan the skin for spots, redness or lumps while you groom.
