How much exercise does a Havanese need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Havanese enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Around 30 to 60 minutes of activity a day suits most adults, made up of walks, games in the garden and indoor play. They are energetic in short bursts rather than built for long runs, and many will happily switch between racing round the living room and falling asleep in your lap.
Havanese do well in trick training, rally obedience and small-dog agility, and they love games that involve you. On very hot days walk early or late; the coat gives some sun protection, but a small dog on hot pavement tires quickly. A dog that barks, chews or shadows you anxiously is often under-occupied mentally rather than physically.
