How much exercise does a Chinese Crested need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Chinese Crested enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Thirty to 40 minutes a day covers most adults: two short walks plus play indoors. Cresteds are surprisingly agile, and many love to climb, leap onto furniture and even scramble over low fences, so check garden boundaries before letting a new dog out alone. Quite a few excel at small-dog agility.
Weather decides the walk more than energy does. In cold or damp conditions a hairless dog needs a jumper or coat, and in bright sun it needs shade, a light shirt or a dog-safe sunscreen on exposed pink skin. Keep hot-weather walks to early mornings and evenings. A Crested that pants heavily, stumbles or lies down during a warm walk should be moved somewhere cool and taken to a vet.
