How much exercise does a Brussels Griffon need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Brussels Griffon enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
About 30 to 45 minutes of activity a day keeps most Griffons fit and content. Two brisk walks plus indoor games of fetch or hide and seek are usually enough. Many Griffons enjoy rally obedience or beginner agility, where their quick minds get as much work as their legs.
Use a harness, since a collar can press on the throat of a short-faced dog. Keep walks short and cool on warm days and avoid midday sun. A Griffon that pants heavily and noisily, stops walking, or seeks shade repeatedly is telling you it is too hot. Under-exercised dogs often channel energy into barking at the window, so a sniffy walk is a good remedy.
