How much exercise does a Biewer Terrier need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Biewer Terrier enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Around 30 minutes of daily activity keeps most adults happy, split between short walks and indoor play. Biewers enjoy chasing small toys, learning tricks and exploring new places, and they can take part in agility or rally with suitable equipment. A harness is safer than a collar for a dog with a delicate neck.
Their small size makes them sensitive to cold, and below about 5°C (41°F) many Biewers shiver within minutes, so a fitted coat helps on winter walks. Be careful around larger dogs, which can cause injuries even during friendly play; small-dog play sessions or quiet times at the park are safer. Carrying the dog everywhere limits its confidence and socialization, so let it walk and explore on its own feet whenever the ground is safe. A tired Biewer sits down and refuses to move, and that is the moment to pick it up, not before.
