How much exercise does a Löwchen need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Löwchen enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Around 30 to 45 minutes of activity a day keeps most adults content, split between walks and play. The breed loves short bursts of running and chasing toys, and many do well at agility, rally or trick training. Indoor games such as hide and seek with treats are handy on wet days, when a long coat soaks up mud.
Once fit, a Löwchen can manage surprisingly long walks, but it does not need them. An under-stimulated dog barks more and finds its own projects. In cold weather the clipped hindquarters lose heat, so a light coat can help on long winter walks; in summer, go out early and carry water.
