Löwchen puppies grow fairly quickly and reach adult height at about 10 to 12 months. An 8-week-old puppy often weighs around 1.5 to 2 kg. Coat color can change a great deal over the first two years, and many dogs end up noticeably lighter or darker than they were as puppies.
Very small puppies need regular meals, usually three or four a day until 4 months and three until about 6 months, to keep their energy steady. Discourage jumping off sofas and beds, which can injure young joints. If your puppy seems weak, wobbly, trembling or unusually sleepy, especially after missing a meal, contact a vet straight away.
