How much exercise does a Miniature Poodle need?

Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Miniature Poodle enjoys and signs of too much or too little.

Plan on 45 to 60 minutes of activity a day, split between two walks and some play or training at home. That is not a huge amount for a fit adult, but the mental side matters as much as the physical side: ten minutes of scent games or a new trick often tires a Mini more than an extra lap of the park.

Minis excel at agility, rally, trick training and even small-scale dock diving, and many love retrieving a soft toy for as long as you will throw it. Signs of too little exercise include shredding, nuisance barking and zooming laps around the living room in the evening. Too much, especially in young dogs, shows up as stiffness the next morning or lagging behind on the walk home.
