How much exercise does a Bichon Frise need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Bichon Frise enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Around 30 to 45 minutes of walking and play a day keeps most Bichons fit and settled. They are not endurance dogs, but they are lively and athletic for their size, and many enjoy agility, trick training and ball games in the garden.
The famous Bichon blitz, a sudden sprint in circles around the room with the tail tucked, is normal play and often happens after a bath or in the evening. A dog that is under-exercised tends to bark more and chew. Wet walks leave the coat soaked; towel dry and brush after muddy outings so dirt does not set into mats.
