How much exercise does a Puli need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Puli enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Expect to provide around an hour of activity a day, with room for real running. Pulik are quick and agile and enjoy herding instinct tests, agility, obedience, rally and games of chase in a secure area. They also make keen walking companions as long as the route gives them plenty to observe and investigate.
Weather matters more than it does with most breeds. A wet corded coat grows heavy and takes hours to dry, so many owners use a waterproof coat or towel and blow-dry the dog after rainy walks to prevent a musty smell. In summer, that dense coat makes overheating a real risk: walk in the cool hours and look for shade. Heavy panting, lagging behind or lying down and refusing to move all mean it is time to stop.
