Pulik are clever and responsive, but also independent thinkers bred to make decisions out on the plains without waiting for instructions. They learn quickly with rewards and variety and switch off with repetitive drills. Many enjoy learning to work sheep or ducks if you can find a herding instructor nearby.

Common challenges include barking at unusual sights or sounds, herding behavior such as circling or nipping at running children, and wariness with strangers. Redirect herding instincts into structured games like treibball, and socialize widely from puppyhood so natural caution does not turn into fear. A reliable settle cue helps a watchful dog learn that not every sound needs an announcement.
