Pumi puppies grow fast and reach close to adult height by around 10 to 12 months, filling out until about 14 months. Coat color may still be changing well into the second year, especially in gray dogs, and the curls often look uneven and patchy during the transition from puppy fuzz.
Growing Pumik are bouncy and eager to jump, twist and sprint. Keep repetitive jumping and long runs on pavement to a minimum until growth plates close, typically at 12 to 14 months. Book a vet check for any limp that lasts more than a day or keeps coming back after play.
