How much exercise does a Russian Toy need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Russian Toy enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Half an hour to 45 minutes of activity a day, mixing short walks with indoor play, keeps most Russian Toys fit and content. Despite their size they are quick and lively, and many enjoy fetch, trick training and even agility on mini-sized equipment. They tire fast, so several short sessions work better than one long outing.
Use a harness rather than a collar to protect the delicate throat, and be careful around larger dogs, who may play far too roughly. In cold weather a coat is essential, since they lose heat quickly. Lagging behind, asking to be picked up or shivering are signs your dog has had enough.
