Russian Toy grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Russian Toy: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
Smooth-coated Russian Toys need only a weekly wipe with a soft cloth or rubber mitt. Long-haired dogs need brushing two or three times a week, with special attention to the ear fringes, which tangle easily. A bath once a month or less is plenty for both varieties.
Dental care is the most important grooming job for this breed. Brush teeth several times a week with a small, soft toothbrush. Trim nails every two to three weeks, because tiny dogs wear them down very little, and check those large ears weekly for dirt and wax.
