Toy Fox Terrier feeding guide: how much and how often

An adult TFT weighing 3 kg (6.6 lb) usually needs only about 40 to 60 g of dry food per day, roughly half to two-thirds of a cup, split into two or three meals. Small kibble suits tiny mouths. At this size, three or four extra treats a day can equal a whole extra meal, so count them.
Toy breed puppies can develop low blood sugar if they go too long without food, so feed three to four small meals a day until about four months of age and keep mealtimes regular. Contact a vet immediately if a puppy seems weak, wobbly, unusually sleepy or trembles without being cold.
Choose a shallow, weighted bowl that a small dog can reach without stretching or tipping. Crowded teeth in a tiny jaw collect tartar quickly, so build tooth brushing into the routine from puppyhood.
