American Bully feeding guide: how much and how often
Daily calories, portions by age and practical feeding tips for the American Bully.
A Standard adult of 25 to 35 kg (55 to 77 lb) typically eats around 350 to 500 g of a typical dry food daily, about 3.5 to 5 cups, depending on build and activity. Bullies are often enthusiastic eaters and gain weight quickly, and extra fat on a stocky frame adds strain to joints and makes breathing harder. Feed measured portions and judge by a visible waist rather than by bulk.
Resist feeding for size with high-calorie extras or bulking supplements; a heavier dog is not a healthier one. Split food into two meals, and use a slow feeder if your dog eats very fast, since gulping can cause gagging and bringing food back up in dogs with shorter muzzles. A wide, shallow bowl often suits a broad face better than a deep, narrow one, letting the dog reach the food without pressing its cheeks against the sides.
