How much exercise does a Sealyham Terrier need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Sealyham Terrier enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Most adults are happy with 45 to 60 minutes a day, split into two walks with plenty of sniffing time plus some play. They enjoy digging pits, scent games, earthdog events and gentle agility with low jumps. Short legs don't stop a fit Sealyham from covering a respectable country walk.
An under-exercised Sealyham may bark, dig or turn grumpy with other pets. Over-exercise is less common, but long runs and endless stairs can stress the back; signs of back pain, reluctance to move or crying out when lifted mean a vet visit.
