Boston puppies grow fast and reach close to adult height at about 8 to 9 months, then broaden through the chest until around 12 months. Because the breed spans a wide weight range, a puppy's parents are a better guide to its final size than any chart.
Watch breathing noise during growth. Some snorting is normal for the breed, but a puppy that labors to breathe during gentle play, gasps in its sleep or tires after a few minutes deserves an assessment. Keep puppy play sessions short and cool, and avoid long stair climbs until joints and muscles mature.
