How much exercise does a Boxer need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Boxer enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Plan on at least 60 to 90 minutes of activity a day for an adult, ideally split into two sessions with some free running in a safe area. Boxers love fetch, tug, agility, canicross and games that involve chasing you. They are not natural long-distance joggers in warm weather, so save runs for cool mornings and build distance gradually.
An under-exercised Boxer tends to invent its own hobbies: zooming laps of the sofa, chewing door frames, or bouncing off visitors. Over-exertion looks like heavy, noisy panting that does not settle within a few minutes, a very wide tongue, or lagging behind. On any day above about 25 C (77 F), keep walks short and shaded, carry water, and stop at the first sign of struggling to breathe.
