Boxer puppy growth: milestones and weight estimates
How fast a Boxer puppy grows, illustrative weight estimates and the limits of predicting adult size.
Boxer puppies grow fast in the first six months, often reaching around 60 percent of adult weight by then, and then fill out slowly. Height is mostly complete by about 12 to 15 months, but chest depth and muscle keep developing until roughly 2 years, sometimes later in males. A healthy puppy looks leggy and a little gangly, not round.
Feed a food formulated for large-breed puppies so calcium and energy stay in the right range, and resist the urge to push weight. Avoid repeated jumping from height, long runs on pavement and endless stair climbing until growth plates close. If your puppy limps for more than a day, or seems to favor one leg after play, let your vet take a look.
