How much exercise does a Borzoi need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Borzoi enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
An adult needs around 45 to 60 minutes daily, ideally including a chance to sprint flat out in a securely fenced area several times a week. Borzois love short bursts of all-out running followed by long rests. Lure coursing is an ideal outlet that satisfies the chase instinct safely.
Never let a Borzoi off lead near roads or unfenced ground, as a hare or cat can trigger a chase in seconds and the dog may be out of earshot almost at once. Sore feet, pulled muscles or reluctance to run suggest overdoing it, while restlessness and destructive boredom show a lack of exercise.
