Adult Ceskys usually eat 110 to 150 g of dry food a day, roughly 1 to 1.5 cups, split into two meals, depending on size and activity. The low-slung build hides extra weight well, so check ribs and waist monthly rather than relying on the scales alone.
The long beard dips into bowls and collects crumbs, then drips water across the floor. A shallower bowl with a narrower opening helps, and wiping the beard after meals prevents staining and odor. Extra weight adds strain to the long back, so count treats as part of the daily ration.
