Training a Cockapoo: what works and what to expect

Cockapoos are usually eager to please, food motivated and quick to learn. Reward-based training in short, fun sessions suits them well, and many love learning tricks.

Common challenges include jumping up, mouthing, pulling on the lead and distress when left alone. Teach a sit for greetings, provide chew toys, and practice loose-lead walking early. Build alone time gradually from puppyhood so the dog learns that being alone is safe. Early socialization with people, dogs, noises and grooming equipment prevents fears later.
