Mini Bulls learn quickly when they see a reason to, and very slowly when they do not. They respond best to food and play rewards, short sessions and plenty of variety. Harsh handling tends to create a standoff that the dog is usually prepared to win.

Early and ongoing socialization with other dogs is essential, because same-sex intolerance can appear as they mature. Enroll in a puppy class, keep greetings short and supervised, and learn to read stiff body language. Teaching a solid 'drop it' and 'settle' helps enormously with a dog that loves possessing things.
