How much exercise does an Old English Sheepdog need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities an Old English Sheepdog enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Most adults need 60 to 90 minutes of activity daily, including walks, games and time to run in a safe space. Bobtails enjoy herding trials, rally, agility and long countryside walks. They are strong pullers when young, so early leash training helps.
Heat is the main concern. The heavy coat holds warmth, so exercise early in the morning or late evening in summer, provide shade and water, and consider a shorter summer trim. Heavy panting, slowing down and seeking cool floors all signal that your dog has had enough.
