Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy growth: milestones and weight estimates
How fast a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy grows, illustrative weight estimates and the limits of predicting adult size.
Pembroke puppies grow quickly in their first six months, often going from about 4 kg at 10 weeks to 9 or 10 kg by six months, then filling out more slowly. Most reach adult height by 10 to 12 months and finish adding chest and muscle by around 18 months. The ears can take a while to stand; they may go up, flop during teething, and rise again, which is normal.
The growth window is when you protect that long back. Carry young puppies down stairs, use a ramp for the sofa or car, and avoid games built on leaping and twisting until the growth plates close at around 12 months. Keep the puppy slim, since extra weight during growth adds strain to developing joints. If a puppy seems reluctant to walk, yelps when picked up, or wobbles on its hind legs, book a vet visit promptly.
