How much exercise does a Pembroke Welsh Corgi need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Pembroke Welsh Corgi enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
An adult Pembroke needs about 60 minutes of activity a day, split between walks and games that ask it to think. Two 25 minute walks plus 10 minutes of fetch, herding-style ball games or trick training suits most. They make surprisingly good companions on moderate trails, and many enjoy herding instinct tests, agility at lower jump heights, rally and nosework.
Too little exercise shows up as barking at nothing, chasing the vacuum cleaner and herding the children. Too much looks different: lagging behind, stiffness the morning after, or heavy panting in warm weather, since that dense coat holds heat. Skip long runs on hot days and keep jumping off high surfaces to a minimum at any age.
