Sloughi grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Sloughi: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
The short coat needs little care: a weekly rub with a rubber mitt or soft brush removes loose hair and keeps the skin healthy. Sloughis have very little doggy odor and may need a bath only a few times a year. Shedding is light and spread fairly evenly through the seasons.
Trim nails every two to three weeks, since long nails affect the gait of a fast-moving dog. Brush teeth several times a week. In cold, wet weather a well-fitted coat keeps them warm, and thick, soft bedding protects bony elbows and hips from pressure sores.
