How much exercise does a Sloughi need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Sloughi enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
About 45 to 60 minutes a day, including a chance to sprint in a securely fenced area several times a week, suits most adults. Sloughis are sprinters rather than endurance athletes, and they enjoy lure coursing, straight racing and long, steady walks. Afterward most are content to sleep for hours.
The chase instinct is powerful, and many Sloughis cannot be trusted off-lead in open country, since a rabbit or cat can have them out of sight in seconds. Garden fences should be at least 1.8 m (6 ft) high. The thin skin tears easily on brambles and wire, so check for cuts after every run.
