How much exercise does a Wirehaired Vizsla need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Wirehaired Vizsla enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Ninety minutes of vigorous activity a day is the minimum, and two hours suits many young adults better. Good options include off-lead running in safe areas, swimming, hiking, canicross, bikejoring once fully grown, retrieving games, scent work, and hunting or field trials. Agility and obedience add mental work to the physical effort.
A well-exercised Wirehaired Vizsla is usually calm and cuddly at home. An under-exercised one may pace, whine, chew, dig, or pester you for attention all evening. At the other extreme, watch for overheating on warm days, sore pads on rough ground, and exhaustion in young dogs that do not know when to stop.
