Wirehaired Vizsla puppies grow steadily and reach most of their adult height at around 12 months, with full weight and muscle between 18 months and two years. The adult coat texture can take a year or more to develop fully, and puppies often look softer or fuzzier before the wiry coat comes through.
Young dogs have far more energy than their joints should handle. Build exercise gradually, favoring free running on soft ground over long runs on pavement, and avoid repetitive jumping or running beside a bike until around 18 months. If you plan to hunt, introduce birds, water and gunfire slowly and positively. See your vet if a young dog limps for more than a day or two or seems reluctant to run.
