How much exercise does an Affenpinscher need?

Daily exercise minutes, the activities an Affenpinscher enjoys and signs of too much or too little.

Around 30 minutes of daily walking, plus play indoors, covers most adults. Affens enjoy short explorations, sniffing games and tug with small toys. A harness rather than a collar spreads pressure away from the small neck.

Size is the main safety issue. An Affen will often square up to a dog ten times its weight, so choose walking routes and parks carefully and pick up your dog if a large, loose dog approaches. The short face makes hot weather harder: walk in the cool of the day, and stop if your dog breathes noisily or lags.
