Pug puppies grow steadily and usually reach adult height by about 9 months and full weight around 12 months. A 10-week-old puppy often weighs 1.5 to 2.5 kg, and most double that by 5 months. Puppies are chunky by nature, but they should still have a visible waist.
Watch breathing during growth. Some puppies snore lightly and outgrow it, while others become noisier as the soft tissue in the throat develops. Ask your vet to check nostril size and breathing at early visits. Avoid letting a puppy jump off sofas or beds, as Pugs are prone to kneecap and spinal problems and do not land gracefully.
