Cesky Terrier grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Cesky Terrier: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
Grooming is the main commitment. Most Ceskys are clipped every 6 to 8 weeks: short on the back and sides, with longer furnishings on the beard, eyebrows, legs and a skirt along the belly. Between clips, brush and comb the furnishings two or three times a week, especially behind the ears, in the armpits and on the legs, where the soft hair tangles quickly. Many owners learn to clip at home, which saves money once you have the right clippers and a little practice.
The beard needs daily attention: wipe it after meals and comb it through to prevent mats and smells. Trim hair around the eyes so it does not block vision, remove excess hair between the pads, trim nails every 3 to 4 weeks and check ears weekly. Bathing every 4 to 6 weeks keeps the silky coat clean without drying the skin.
