How much exercise does a Komondor need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Komondor enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
About an hour of moderate activity a day suits an adult. Komondorok are not joggers or ball chasers; they prefer steady walks and time patrolling their own territory. A large, securely fenced garden or paddock is close to essential, and fencing should be at least 1.8 m (6 ft) tall and solid enough to discourage climbing.
Guardian breeds tend to be most alert at dusk and through the night, and many rest during the day and patrol in the evening. Skip exercise in the heat of the day, because the heavy coat traps warmth. Heavy panting, drooling and repeatedly lying down are signs of heat stress. In public places keep the dog on a lead, as it may react to anything it reads as a threat to you.
