How much exercise does a Labradoodle need?
Daily exercise minutes, the activities a Labradoodle enjoys and signs of too much or too little.
Standard Labradoodles generally need 60 to 90 minutes of activity a day as adults, and miniatures slightly less. Mix walks with off-lead play, fetch and swimming, which many love thanks to water-dog ancestry on both sides. Scent games, agility and trick training burn mental energy and suit the cross's quick learning.
Signs of under-exercise include jumping on guests, mouthing, barking for attention and chewing. Young dogs in particular have far more stamina than owners expect. Too much, too soon shows as stiffness, reluctance to get up or limping, especially in growing dogs. In hot weather the thick coat can make them overheat, so walk early and late.
