Pharaoh Hound puppies grow quickly, all legs and oversized ears that they spend the first year growing into. Adult height usually arrives at 10 to 12 months, with the body filling out by about 18 months. Mentally they stay playful and mischievous for longer, often past two.
Protect growing joints by avoiding forced running on hard surfaces and repeated high jumping before 12 months. Free play on grass and short walks are ideal. Young hounds are fast and daring, so watch for soreness after play; a limp that lasts more than a couple of days needs a vet visit.
