Plott puppies grow quickly and reach adult height at around 12 months, then keep adding muscle until roughly 18 months. At 12 weeks many weigh 7 to 10 kg, depending on sex and bloodline.
Save long runs, jumping and hard hunting for when the dog is physically mature, usually after 12 to 14 months. Free play and sniffing walks on soft ground build strength safely. If a young Plott limps, seems stiff after rest or starts avoiding stairs, have it checked by a vet.
