Plott Hound grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Plott Hound: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
Coat care is minimal. A weekly going-over with a rubber curry brush or hound glove removes loose hair and keeps the coat glossy. Shedding is light to moderate, and bathing is needed only after a muddy or smelly adventure.
Ears need more attention than the coat. Long, hanging ears trap moisture and debris, so check and clean them weekly and after swimming. Trim nails every 3 to 4 weeks if the dog does not wear them down, and check paws for cuts after hikes on rough ground.
