Tibetan Spaniel feeding guide: how much and how often
Daily calories, portions by age and practical feeding tips for the Tibetan Spaniel.
A 5.5 kg (12 lb) adult usually needs 85 to 100 g of dry food a day, about three quarters to one cup, over two meals. Tibbies are moderate eaters and some are choosy, but older dogs can gain weight quietly under the mane, so weigh your dog every month or two.
The muzzle is slightly short, and many Tibbies prefer a shallow, wide bowl to a deep one where they have to push their face in. Kibble of a small to medium size suits their jaw. If your dog picks at food, check that treats and table scraps are not filling it up before dinner.
