Tibetan Spaniel grooming: brushing, bathing and shedding
A practical grooming routine for the Tibetan Spaniel: coat care, baths, nails and ears.
The coat is easier than it looks. A thorough brush once or twice a week with a pin brush and a comb keeps it tidy. Pay most attention to the soft hair behind the ears and in the trousers, where small mats form first. Tibbies shed moderately, with heavier shedding once or twice a year.
Trim the hair between the paw pads so the dog does not slip on smooth floors, but leave the feathering on top of the feet, which gives the breed its hare-foot look. Bath every 6 to 8 weeks or when dirty, trim nails every 3 to 4 weeks, and check ears for wax once a week.
